White-thorn acacia

Small, thorny, spreading tree, 2 to 10 feet tall, common on slopes, mesas and along washes between 2,000 and 6,500 ft. elevation. An attractive shrub, especially in spring when it is covered with small, orange-yellow, fragrant globular flowers. The seeds are sought after by birds and small mammals.
