Warm season, perennial bunchgrass with an extensive fibrous root system. Performs best on deep, moist, fine textured soils but will persist on coarser soils on dry sites. Capable of thriving on saline and sodic soils. Medium palatability to livestock and provides valuable cover for birds and small mammals. Also useful as a soil binder.
