Formerly known as Agrostis tenuis. Cool season, tufted perennial bunchgrass, with the vigorous root system, sometimes with stolons or short rhizomes. Adapted to moist or moderately wet sites. Tolerates acidic and nutritionally poor soils. Nutritious and highly palatable. Commonly used as a turfgrass.
